Filters for Astro-Video cameras are hard to recommend due to the relatively short exposures involved. After many tests this gentle Universal Contrast Filter (1.25″) has shown merit in reducing light pollution and increasing contrast on all objects.
It is effective mainly in areas where the local light pollution is due to Sodium (yellowish) light.
It’s also been found to be effective in revealing surface features on the planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn as well as reducing glare when viewing the Moon.
The QHY CFW 1.25 Inch Adapter is designed to connect QHY mono planetary cameras and the QHYCFW3-S-US and QHYCFW3-S-SR filter wheels using the native dovetail camera fitting. If you’ve removed the dovetail fitting to reveal a female T thread, you can use this adapter instead.
Clamp Ring for QHY Cameras – fits QHY268M, QHY268C, QHY294M and QHY294C, has 1/4″ tripod threads on both base and top. Can be used with our Mini Dovetail for direct use on a mount with a Vixen style saddle.
