Chroma Filters, the ones professionals use at many major observatories, NASA and JPL.
In business for 24 years and experienced in several scientific disciplines, Chroma has made filters for many “famous name” companies in the past, but now operates under its own banner.
Custom filters, in terms of size, extreme F ratios and bandpass, are a speciality – just ask!
We are revamping our Chroma prices, please contact us for a competitive quote if you see lower pricing elsewhere.
The Chroma H-Alpha 3nm Filter is essential for ultra high contrast images of nebulae under high levels of light pollution and Moon light. Normally used in comjunction with Chroma 3nm OIII and 3nm SII narrowband filters to create composite images.
Chroma Luminance Filter – New design to provide better images with modern sensors, especially when used with refractors.
Transmission between 420nm and 693nm is 96% to 99% and glass thickness is 3mm. Transmission data is from an actual filter and representative, but may vary very slightly between samples.
The Chroma OIII 5nm Filter isolates the 500.7nm primary emission line of doubly ionized oxygen, which is the second most important imaging line after Ha.
The Chroma SII 5nm Filter is essential for imaging objects rich in ionised Sulphur in light polluted areas and in moonlit conditions. Partners well with the Chroma 5nm Ha and OIII filters.
