Product Description

QHY miniGuideScope Kit – A lightweight Guide Scope Suitable for Most Guide Cameras.

Modern high QE guide cameras with small pixels don’t need a big guide scope! Small pixels detect guide errors using short focal lengths. When focal length is reduced FOV becomes wider and you find guide stars easily. QHY miniGuideScope kit is based on this idea and contains a 130mm FL, 32mm diameter ultra small telescope operating at F4.3. You just rotate the focuser to focus, then lock for future use. The kit base fits standard finder shoes and can also be bolted to a tripod head. The OTA is securely held without marring.

Successfully tested with QHY5L-II Mono & Colour (ZWO and Altair Astro clones will also work) and QHY5P-II Mono & QHY5-II Mono.
Thoughts on Auto-Guiding from Wilmslow Astro has a convenient calculator to determine the required guidescope focal length based on atmospheric conditions, pixel size and guide software centroid accuracy. The QHY camera pictured is an option, and not included.
