DSLR Astro Conversion Filter for Canon EOS 5 D Mk II & 6D
Canon Digital SLR cameras are amongst the most popular cameras for astro-imaging. They do not require a computer, are very sensitive and have high resolution.
The cameras do have one major drawback for astro-imaging though. The original IR cut filter installed has poor transmission of the important H-Alpha line. Nebulae are consequently difficult to photograph with a standard camera.
Baader have made an IR cut filter that replaces the standard internal Canon filter. This filter has high transmission of the H-Alpha line and eliminates the cameras’ major disadvantage for astro-imaging.
