QHY miniCAM5S Mono – Cooled CMOS Camera with Guide Port.
The camera uses a high QE 1.2mega pixel 1/3inch 1280*960 CMOS sensor, the mono version has a QE of 75% Â the colour version 62%.
It has professional two stage TEC (with set point), which can cool the image sensor down to -45 below ambient, making it an ideal Deep Sky camera. It also has extremely low readout noise of 2e-.
The benefit of such connector is the solid connection between the camera and other devices. MiniCAM5S supports on-camera guiding with 12bit image output in hardware. Whereas the QHY5L-II supports 12bit image output, but the on-camera guide port cannot work in 12bit mode, because the guide port is multiplexing on the data bus of the low 4 bits.
The miniCAM5S is fully protected against moisture. It has a built-in heated board to keep the CMOS chamber window clear and a desiccant tube system to keep the CMOS chamber dry.
The miniCAM5S is an extraordinary camera available in both Colour and Mono versions.
