The QHY5III715C colour camera is an ultra-high resolution back-illuminated colour camera with extremely low read noise. The sensor has a 1/2.8-inch optical format with 4K resolution and 1.45um pixels making it ideal for smaller short focal length refractors.
The QHY5III585C Colour camera is one of a new generation of QHY5III V2 series planetary / guide cameras and an enhanced version of its predecessor QHY5III485C. It has high sensitivity in the near infrared, similar to that of QHY5III462C, while the dynamic range performance is improved.
Starlight Xpress Ultrastar Mono is an advanced version of the ‘Superstar’ guide camera and has a similar resolution of 1392 x 1040 pixels. The sensor has 70% more area and QE is greater, at around 75% peak. These characteristics give the Ultrastar excellent performance as both a guide camera and an imaging camera, it’s also well suited to ‘Live Viewing’ with a greater FOV than the Lodestar x2.
